PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Poppaea is named after the beautiful second wife of Roman Emperor Nero, who was famous for his lavish lifestyle. Poppaea is the first of 24 luxury architecturally design homes to be built at this blue ribbon address which hugs the sunlit northern slopes of iconic Mt Gibraltar above the charming, historic town of Mittagong.

Following the Poppaea project from construction to completion will be Channel Nine TV show, My Aussie Build, which has started filming on the site for a nationally broadcast story scheduled for 2022.

To be completed by December 2021 and using local designers, builders, landscapers and engineers, Poppaea will be unveiled as a contemporary, luxe, pavilion-style adaption of a 21st century farmhouse. Sprawling over 520sqm on a lush 4000 sqm (1 acre) elevated meadow of prime real estate, the striking, spectacularly proportioned residence will flaunt custom-made, master-built elements and sharp, modern, next-level design features and aesthetics never before seen in the Southern Highlands.

Spacious, airy, light-filled and richly appointed, the beautiful, white-washed house will offer soaring, raked ceilings up to 7.2 m high in the main lifestyle hub, the Great Room, with internal trusses made from reclaimed, century-old railway bridge timbers. Across two wings, there will be four bedrooms plus a rumpus/bedroom above the three-car garage, with the expansive master sanctuary offering a huge walk-in-robe and opulent ensuite with tub. Other highlights will be an ornate gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-range appliances and stone benches, a butler’s pantry, must-have wine cellar, media room and study.
